Welcome!

Welcome to the blog on the upcoming General Chapter of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate! As various articles on the chapter theme “Conversion” are posted on our official website (omiworld), we look forward to hearing from you with your comments and suggestions. The General Chapter, which takes place September 8 to October 8, 2010, is a special time of prayer and preparation for every Oblate and all those associated with us
On a technical note, when you make a comment on the site, you will be asked to indicate your account name. If you don’t have one, you may indicate the category of “anonymous”. It is acceptable to do that, but it would be helpful for us to know who you are so that a response could be made, if needed. That’s why we ask you to sign with your name.
Thank you for your participation and prayers!

  1. A NEW HEART doesn’t sound right to me. A RENEWED HEART would sound better. I like it better in the French version as UN COEUR NOUVEAU because it says something to me. If it were UN NOUVEAU COEUR, I would have the same problem as with A NEW HEART. That’s what is nice with the French, by inverting the order, the meaning is clear. In English we can’t say A HEART NEW, that’s why I suggest A RENEWED HEART. I know you want to keep a balance, so you might have to go with A RENEWED SPIRIT and A RENEWED MISSION, in its English version. A NEW HEART sounds physical, like having a heart operation, also UN NOUVEAU COEUR, but the UN COEUR NOUVEAU expresses a different nuance, something like A RENEWED HEART would. I’m sorry if this is so long, but I wanted to make sure I got my point across.
